Abstract

Cybersecurity was created to enhance security and resilience, hence the nation’s reliability in the growing technology and communications infrastructure. The government controls the agency since the federal government under the United States Department of home security formulated it. As tasked in its formation, the agency ensures accountability of the various crimes and disaster through the various government officials’ coordination. The agency’s creation opened more doors for securing employment opportunities for the citizens. Cybersecurity, therefore, functions in protecting network boundaries, controlling the connectivity, and preparing the various network access connections such as cloud, allowing for remote access. Through various platforms such as military and education, the agency offers opportunities to work in the organization. The public members can apply for job opportunities when vacancies are updated on the agency platform. The agency is an independent state department under security.

Cyber-security and Infrastructure Security Agency

With the rising cybersecurity cases, the United States Department of Home Security formulated a cybersecurity and infrastructure security agency. The agency being a national risk advisor, collaborates with the various stakeholders to perform its actions against the everyday threats in order to create a secure and resilient infrastructure that will form the basis of the future (Crumpler and Lewis, 2019).  Since the new security threats have become more complex, the agency is mobilizing the defence collectively to drive the state efforts of understanding and managing the various risks to the critical infrastructure, which forms the future.

Missions

The company works on the mission of leading the National effort to ensure full understanding and management of both cyber and physical risks that threaten the critical infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

As tasked by the national government of the United States, the cybersecurity and infrastructure security agency has built a national capacity through which it defends the nationalists against cyber attacks. Through collaboration with the federal government, the agency provides cybersecurity tools, incidence cybersecurity response services, and assessment capabilities in a bid to secure the government networks that act as support to the various partner departments and agencies. The cybersecurity and infrastructure through partnership with private and public sector, it performs the role of coordinating security hence translating to the technical support delivery as well as the undertaking on the role of assessment of the various federal stakeholders (Crumpler and lewis 2019). The cybersecurity and infrastructure conduct nationwide extensive outreach programs to support the various emergency service providers’ ability.

Functions

Just like the aim of forming the agency, it functions to delivers insight on the assessment relating to the neo-current capabilities hence identifying the gaps as well as examining the new technology systems.  The examination of these emerging technologies aids in the determination of the demand goes future capabilities. The agency also enhances public safety intergrades at the different government levels, hence enhancing the development of emergency communication capabilities throughout the country (West and Zentner, 2019). Through the extensive nationwide outreach support, the agency ensures continuous communication across the various relevant officials in the incidence of natural disaster or terrorist attacks or any other form of an artificial disaster. As tasked by the government, the agency plans analyses and collaborates with the Centre to identify and address the various state significant risks.

Employment

In a bid to secure employment in the cybersecurity and infrastructure agency in the United States, it demands various skills. For instance, some technical skills place an individual in a better position of securing employment in the agency as one is able to decode the specific computer-related aspects of the job specification at a relatively higher pace as compared to an individual lacking the information technology background (Dawson et al., 2018). Therefore with an education background, one stands a chance to secure a job as a programmer, web developer or software engineer in the agency. The software developers are the individuals tasked with mitigating the vulnerabilities like buffer overflows while web developers in the agency detect malicious codes and block them; hence the greater its knowledge forms a basis of securing a job in the agency.

However, the educational background does not guarantee a direct ticket to win a job position in this agency. Therefore, having professional work experience places one at a greater chance of securing a cybersecurity and infrastructure security agency job. The experience can be from experience gained from hobbies or part-time employment opportunities (Dawson et al., 2018). The experience is vital since most of the managers value the on-job experience in the recruitment process. However, the technical cybersecurity jobs demand detailed computer developer; most of the skills performing various roles are gained from the job.

However, there are various job opportunities in the agency, which demand various educational background. Therefore, one can gain entry into employment in the agency by obtaining various cybersecurity certificates, joining the military department tasked with the anti-terror groups at the field, and securing an intern (Dawson et al., 2018). In addition, reaching out to the various recruiters enables one to receive guidance in the prospective applicant’s particular area of interest. The various job opportunities are always posted on the agency platform; hence the prospective applicants should always check on the platform to know the available slots and the application dates.

In conclusion, the agency was formed as a form of defence against the current threats and aid in the collaboration of the various stakeholders in the market in order to provide secure and resilient infrastructure for the next generation. The collaboration of the agency with the various stakeholders i=ensures the success of the agency functions. Securing job opportunities in the agency starts with the gaining of education background or the skills that garners one the opportunities to gain entry into the department. Gaining cybersecurity certificates and joining the military provide opportunities for gaining entry into the agency. Various other job skills are gained at the job.
