Ways of looking at religion

Introduction

The belief in supernatural beings is believed to have existed even before civilization of humanity. The definition and ways in which different people look at religion differ. “Nearly everyone has some conception of defining religion. In fact, sometimes it appears that her are as many definitions of it as there are people” (Schmidt 9). These different ways of looking at religion have been into two; ‘true’ and ‘false’ ways of looking at religion. Each way tries to convince and persuade people of its feasibility. However, the ‘true’ way of looking at religion is more persuading than the ‘false’ way.

“True” way of looking at religion

I am persuaded by the fact that God is brought closer to humanity and His undying love for His creation. In the book of Genesis, we are told, “so God created mankind in His own image” (New International Version, Gen. 1; 27). The bond between God and man is unbreakable that is why He chooses man out of all His creations to carry out His will. The Bible also tells us that man was put on earth to serve God and nothing else and it is for this service that we must always be ready when He calls us.

The power of God is something that cannot be compared to anything. God is perceived to be the most powerful being. He is so powerful that there is nothing too difficult for Him to do. The Bible states, “For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword” (King James Bible, Heb 4; 12). This power allows Him to do anything He wants to anybody He chooses. The methods that He uses to pass His messages are clear proof of His mighty power.
